CISPLATIN

19875; Cisplatyl; Neoplatin; Platinex; Platinol
It occurs as deep yellow solid, m.p. 270* (decomp). It is
insoluble in most common solvent and is changed to trans-form in aqueous solution.
Aqueous solutions are stable for 24 hours at room temperature. It is not
necessary to prepare a solution immediately before use provided it was
protected from light.
Uses: Cisplatin is used in the treatment of metastatic tumours of
testes, ovary and bladder..
Side Effect
Severe nausea and vomiting occur in most patients during treatment
with cisplatin. Serious toxic effects on kidney, bone marrow, and ears have
been reported.
