Clofazimine, an imino- C phenazine dye, m.p. 210-212°,is a fine
reddish-brown, odourless powder which is practically insoluble in water;
soluble in chloroform; slightly soluble in alcohol very slightly soluble in
ether
Uses
Clofazimine is an antileprotic agent. It is used to treat in
association with other antileprotic agents to prevent the emergence of
resistance.
Adverse effect
Adverse effects to clofazimine are red to brown discolouration of
skin and hair, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain
