It
occurs as a white crystalline or granular powder with a slight odour. m.p.
182-187 (decomp!. It contains a variable amount of water. It is soluble in
water (l in l. 5); practically insoluble in alcohol and ether. A l'96 solution
in water has a pH of about 5. It is kept in well-closed containers.
Piperazine citrate is
administered orally. In some commercial prociucts, the dose is expressed in
terms of the equivalent amount of piperazine hexahydrate.
Uses
It is used as anthelmintic (intestinal pinworms and roundworms
