Certain neurotoxic reactions have been observed after the use of streptomycin. They are characterized by vertigo, disturbance of equilibrium and reduced auditory acuity.
In combination with penicillin, streptomycin is used to ièsubacute bacterial endocarditis and postoperative infections. streptomycin is rapidly absorbed after intramuscular injection.
