SUCCINIMDES
Substituted succinimides
are used to treat petit mal Seizures. These succinimides are prepared by
reaction of the derivative of succinic acid with ammonia oran alkylamine. The
succinimides are less potent than the oxazolidinediones and exhibit significant
side effects. These drugs are moderately effective in the control of petit mal
seizures but are ineffective against grand mal. They are taken orally.
