SUCCINIMDES

Substituted succinimides are used to treat petit mal Seizures. These succinimides are prepared by reaction of the derivative of succinic acid with ammonia oran alkylamine. The succinimides are less potent than the oxazolidinediones and exhibit significant side effects. These drugs are moderately effective in the control of petit mal seizures but are ineffective against grand mal. They are taken orally.
