TALAZOLINE

Tolazoline hydrochloride, m.p. 1749, is a white or creamy white,
bitter, crystalline powder with slight aromatic odour. It is soluble in water
(1 in l), alcohol (l in 2), chloroform (l in 3); practically insoluble in
ether. Aqueous solutions are slightly acidic to litmus. The drug is stored in
well-closed containers.
Uses:
Tolazoline is an anti-adrenergic, and vasodilator; used to reduce pulmonary
artery pressure and in the treatment of peripheral vascular disorders,
acrocyanosis, arteriosclerosis obliterans, Buerger's disease, Raynaud's
disease, frostbite sequelae, thrombophlebitis, etc.

Effect
Common
side effects of tolazoline include pilo-erection. headache, flushing,
tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, tinging, chilliness, shivering, sweating,
nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and epigastric pain
