Terbutaline, m.p. 119-1229, is a crystalline compound.




Terbutaline sulphate, m.p. 246-248°, is a white to greyish-white, odourless  crystalline powder; soluble in water (1 in 4); slightly soluble in alcohol and methanol; practically insoluble in chloroform and ether; stored at 15* to 30° in well-closed containers and protected from light.




Uses: Terbutaline sulphate is a sympathomimetic agent with actions and used as a bronchodialator and prevention of premture labour as the base in aerosol inhaelers .

Reserpine is an alkaloid obtained from the roots of certain species of Rauuolfia (Apocynaceae) mainly Rauuvolfia serpentina and R. vomitoria, or by synthesis. It occurs as odourless, small, white or pale buff to slightly yellow coloured crystals or crystalline powder, m. p. 264-265° (decomp). It is very sparingly soluble in water; freely soluble in chloroform, methylene chloride, glacial acetic acid; soluble in benzene and ethylacetate; slightly soluble ܗܘ in acetone, methanol, alcohol, ether and in aqueous solutions of acetic and citric acids.
